Need a hand with Salaam Traveler? This page covers the most common questions. If you don't find your answer here, email us and a real person will get back to you.
Contact Support
Email support@salaamtraveler.com. To help us sort things out quickly, send it from the email address you use to sign in, and tell us your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what happened.
You can also reach us from inside the app: on the Home tab, tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner, then tap Contact Support.
Reset Your Password
Forgot your password? You can reset it from the app's sign-in screen:
- On the sign-in screen, enter the email address you use to sign in.
- Tap Forgot password?
- Open the reset link we email you, choose a new password, then sign in with it.
If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder, or email support@salaamtraveler.com and we'll help.
Delete Your Account
You can delete your account at any time, right inside the app:
- Open Salaam Traveler and make sure you're signed in.
- On the Home tab, tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top-right corner.
- Scroll to the bottom and, under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account.
- Tap Continue, enter your password, then tap Delete.
This permanently deletes your account and the data tied to it — your trips, favorites, notes, settings, and community halal confirmations. It can't be undone.
Can't sign in? Email support@salaamtraveler.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it, and we'll take care of it for you.
Pricing & Subscriptions
Salaam Traveler is currently free. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions, so there's nothing to buy, restore, or cancel.
If subscriptions arrive in a future version, they'll be billed and managed through your Apple ID, in your iPhone's Settings app > [your name] > Subscriptions. Deleting your Salaam Traveler account wouldn't cancel an Apple subscription, so you'd cancel it there.
About Halal Information
Halal information in Salaam Traveler is community- and evidence-based: it comes from halal confirmations shared by other travelers and from evidence in public listing data, such as a place's description and reviews. It is not a religious certification, and ownership, suppliers, and menus can change. Please confirm halal status with the venue before you eat, especially if you follow stricter requirements.
Privacy & Terms
Read our Privacy Policy to learn what information the app collects and how it's used, and our Terms of Service for the terms that govern your use of Salaam Traveler. For privacy questions or data requests, email privacy@salaamtraveler.com.
